He is taking my cat Alfie with him (Alfie stayed living with my dad when i moved out) and i am worried about how he will cope with the move

Re: Moving home with cats

I've moved with cats a few times, sometimes to places where they had outdoor access and sometimes to places where they had to be indoor-only. Zylkene and Feliway are the way to go! Also provide lots of environmental enrichment, lots of things for him to climb on, hide in and play with, maybe feed him with an exercise ball to provide a bit of mental stimulation as well as keeping him from putting on weight with the decreased outdoor access. Provide lots of litter trays to begin with, he is likely to choose a favourite one or two places that he likes to use for toileting, so when you figure these out put litter trays in those spots. And experiment with types of litter too, all cats have their own preferences. Good luck!

Re: Moving home with cats

Cats are amazingly adaptable so i wouldn`t worry. Mine used to have unlimited access to outside but here they only get out for a few hours in the evening and they seem really happy. They do love routine though i let them out at about 8pm cause there`s hardly any cars at that time and they always come sit at the window from about 7.45
