Thank you everyone. I was only off the register for a few months, then re-joined as soon as I could afford it. Fortunately my new job pays membership fees, as sometimes that £61 is hard to find at the beginning of December (I've had my fees paid as a Christmas present once- how exciting!)

I think I do have more hours than I thought, as I do a lot of reading and rersearch. Its just a case of collating it.

We have our inspection in a month, so had better get to it!

Also, use the online RCVS CPD log as it gives great tips of what you can class as CPD which will help with your hours. I was pleasantly surprised what can be classed as CPD

We quite often get asked about this so wrote a piece on it in the March edition of RCVS News (p.9 - can download it here: http://www.rcvs.org.uk/publications/rcvs-news-march-2013/?destination=%2Fpublications%2F).

From what you’ve said here, you’ll need to catch up with CPD now that you’re back at work – there are no CPD requirements for RVNs whilst they are off the Register. You can count any CPD (if you did any) whilst you were off, so webinars or study days would count.

Sounds as though you were off the Register for a shorter time, however VNs who are off the Register for more than five years need to undertake a Period of Supervised Practice (PSP) before re-joining. Info about this is at www.rcvs.org.uk/psp/guidance.

you only ever need to show the last 3 years cpd cos its 45 hours over 3 years.....i would try and keep account of everything since 2010
