Hello Alexandrine

As Sarah says, the RCVS VN Department are the people to contact if you're thinking of registering to work as a veterinary nurse in the UK.

The information on the RCVS website http://www.rcvs.org.uk/registration/how-to-register/overseas-qualified-veterinary-nurses sets out the requirements and process for veterinary nurses with qualifications gained overseas to register in the UK, and also has a link to the VN Department's contact details.

The RCVS should have a list of Europeon VN qualifications which will be accepted in the UK.

We employeed a Dutch qualified nurse last year, so I have so knowledge in this subject. Her college was not on the list so we had to contact the RCVS, who contacted the college and regulation board who gave her the qualification. The syllabus was looked at to see if it is similar to the UK qualification, and a decision was then made.

Unfortunately they rejected her qualification - very sad :(
