In light of the increasing dog thefts all over the country we are scanning all new dog registrations (except first puppy vaccs etc) to check they haven't been reported missing/stolen in another area.
I was just interested to see if any other

Re: Scanning new dogs for id chips

We scan all pets when register and also at booster to check chip is still working.
We routinely scan all new pets who havent been to the practice before to check for an I.D chip, even puppys and kittens in for first vacc, I know its highly unlikely that they will be chipped but it's easier to just scan every pet we see, helps get us into the habit so we don't forget!
