Hey. I'm almost at the end of my 2nd year of training, and I haven't heard of anything like this.
My college do an awesome tick sheet for your npl so you can mark off what you have completed and keep tabs on your percentage.

Paper 1 = VN1, VN5 and VN6
Paper 2 = VN3 and VN4
Paper 3 = VN8, VN9, VN10, VN11 and VN12

VN19, SAVN16 and SAVN18 are exams which we sit at college

VN2, VN19, SAVN14, 16 and 18 are all assignments.

This is obviously presuming you're on the small animal pathway
