When you write your application don't forget to have your lines 1.5 or 2x apart and to use the 'Justify' for your paragraphs. Its the button next to the 'align left', 'centre' and 'align right' buttons in word.

Another thought - if you're using an article that quotes and refs another article / study, see if you can get hold of the original text and use that instead / as well.

When using journal articles ensure they are within the last 10years. In text reference: (surnames of authors, year published). If three or more use (first surname et al, year) End reference: these should be in alphabetical order. Surnames of authors. (year published) title of article/chapter. Book/journal title. Publisher. Place of publishing. If using an article you need to put the reference of volume number, pages numbers etc...

I think that using articles are sometimes better than books. Just make sure that they are up to date and if you are using studies just make sure that the study is well designed with good sample sizes and little bias.

The new BSAVA nursing manual has a whole chapter on care plans and the Orpet and Welsh Handbook of Veterinary Nursing has much info on this too. Otherwise there is reams and reams of human literature on care plans.
