 I have just found out that I am about 4-5 weeks pregnant, bit of a shock, but very happy about it!

Help!</title><link>https://www.vetnurse.co.uk/thread/140041?ContentTypeID=1</link><pubDate>Wed, 20 Feb 2013 17:14:51 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="false">1a0763ec-3885-442c-853e-6cef656dfec5:ae2d5081-0f85-46d5-bed7-60f598061eaf</guid><dc:creator>Tamara Barbosa</dc:creator><description>&lt;p&gt;congratulations!! &amp;nbsp;i am 16 weeks pregnant myself :) &amp;nbsp;i told my co-workers right away when i found out at about 5 weeks pregnant because there are some things at work you should be careful with, such as taking x-rays, filling up isoflurane, care when monitoring anaesthesia and recovering patients, lifting heavy animals, and if you just stop doing them, they are going to wonder why. my co-workers have been fantastic, and they have been really good about telling me to leave the room when filling isoflo, taking over for me if x-rays need to be taken, etc. &amp;nbsp; also, wear gloves and wash your hands 10 x more than you did before, especially when cleaning out cat kennels because of toxoplasmosis. &amp;nbsp;hope thats been of some help!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Only yourself and your boss can discuss where risks lie (every job is different) and decide how you can either eliminate or minimise those risks.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Oh, and congratulations!&lt;/p&gt;
