In my limited experience with cat behaviour (much prefer dogs as i think simplier!) they can take a LONG time to settle ( I think you siad only had Cricket a week). i remember a case that went to see Sarah Heath (cat beaviour god!) and it was weeks before the cats were seperated for allowing time for smells to build up slowly. I am sure you will get great help from APBC but they do tend to be very busy. I don;t know where you are based but i use Claire Kirby and she will give good "1st aid! phone advice within a few days of contacting her so it might be worth asking this Vicky is she can do the same.

Good luck

Tried all that. She's fine if Cricket is around but the sight of her makes her scream, not growl or attack.

I've contacted Vicky Halls from APBC website but she's unabailable for a few weeks :(

Re: Feline behaviour -urgent

Hi

I don't know much about Sphyx cats but aren't they quite "special" in their ways? I know all cats are special but.....

To be honest i always find the best people to ask are you local behaviourists. They are always keen to give advice to practice staff as you will then recommned there services to clients. I don;t know what area you are in but best to look on APBC website to find your closest. There is also a cat behaviour talk going on at BSAVA on the Friday (saw it on the CPD link on this site).

In the meantime have you tried calm aid/zylkene or such like for internal calming as well as feliway for environmental? Also keeping them totally seperated for a good few days/week and then very slowly introduce for short periods of time?

Good luck
