My fiancee keeps telling me off and to think of number one as regards to my training. I am going to pass everything even if i have to be a revision hermit lol. Makes it so much easier to hear how people go through the dredded practicals so thanks guys, much appreciated :)

Re: am i being daft??

I go in nervous as hell.
maybe you got something the other student lacks? - humility..... which is an admirable 'qualification' for any human being.

regards practicals - a very long time since I did mine but have seen a good few people through theirs. 'rehearse' as many times as you can till in the finish it becomes send nature.

another little trick that I have found works very well. Instead of going in there with the attitude that you are being examined and could fail - go in there with the attitude that the people who are watching you would really like to learn how to do the task (ie see them as students not examiners) Just that little shift in perception is enough in many cases to boost your confidence.
When I did my practicals, I was terrified, but just thought to myself, well if I fail, I'll do it again! its not the end of the world (although upsetting)

I also went in smiling, said hello to the examiners, and they were LOVELY to me, all my friends said the examiners were mean etc etc but IMHO if you go in with a positive attitude theyre ok as they are nervous too

Re: am i being daft??
Im not saying the other student hasnt but i always mark myself truly and at the end of the day who am i doing a favour if i lie? The student also said to me after that he miscalculated his result and got lower percentage and ended up getting the same mark as me in one of the tests. That didnt matter to me what he got as long as he passed - for his sake. I know that i could have revised more and i will be sure to do this before my proper 2nd yr exams and practicals. For me its finding the right areas to revise for the mock exams but i have been doing the lot mostly for my main exams. I am doing this for myself, no one else. My tutors also made a fair point that I rush to much during my prac mocks due to nerves, any tips there? thanks guys, hope i dont sound a cow :/

Re: am i being daft??

There is a saying pride before a fall.

I knew someone like this once, who constantly bleated on about their results and how great they were, it used to bug me too.

This person was so sure of themselves it was not real......... this person also failed their exams

Re: am i being daft??

It could be that the other student isn't deliberately trying to be annoying but I can sympathise even so! The fact that you're passing your mocks is great stuff so this bodes well for the exams, once you've passed no-one will actually know your exact result % anyway bar the examiners

Re: am i being daft??

Rise above her.
