Happy Birthday for August Finnigan! I turned the big 5-0 in November last year and know what you mean about doing something challenging and different...it kinda hits you in this way does 50...it's a positive reaction to feeling old I think (NOT THAT WE ARE OLD !!!)

I'd definately recommend Africa been to Kenya, tanzania and south Africa to study wildlife mainly with orphaned lion and cheetah cubs. It was amazing seeing the masai mara, kruger national park, serengeti watching the big 5 rhinos and elephants were beautiful and we managed to get close to a herd on ground - did a lot of walking safaris with a guide and rifle. It challenging tracking and staying alert especially at nigth. i'd definatley do it again although it was horrible watching lions rip zebras its all part of nature. I would love to do it in a veterinary capacity. Your making me jealous now swimming and rehabilitating turtles sounds so tranquail. Go for it.

My dream is to go to Borneo and assist in the care of orphaned orangutans - the centre there seems to do such a good job but I suppose this would be more expensive than greece or i'd love to work with dolphins. Hope you get something.
