I have to agrre with all the comments here Carrie. It took me 6 years to get back into work. Vet Nursing is emotionaly draining at the best of times, but 3 months after a baby? You'll be a bag of hormones. Accept that your brain has turned to mush. That things you could remember easily before feel like quantum physics, but accept that when all is said and done nothing, NOTHING, is as imortant as being a mommy. You get this time with your little one once and that's it, so enjoy and don't let the other stuff get on top of you.

Look at it this way, at least work are making sure you've done things rather than letting you make mistakes. Speak to your head nurse, If she's understanding she will, well undersand. Things will get better though, at least now I can remember my name, where I live.......

carrie,

its so difficult to go back to work- you feel guilty for leaving your baby and if works not fun then whats the point? Is this your first baby ? My honest from the heart advice would be to put your carreer on hold- even just for 6 months it is much easier to leave an older baby, your hormones will be more settled and i found that mother hood has made me more confident . I have 3 kids - took a 6 year break (wish i hadn't left it quite so long) and have been back at work for 6 years and am really happy. The first few months are so precious with a baby don't let work spoil it for you

Hi Carrie - can i just say that I think you are fantastic for going back so soon after your baby -it took me alot longer than that and i felt really rusty (still do sometimes if truth be told).Im still at same vets and have been for years but feel outdated and awkward compared to some of the nurses I now work with.Dont get me wrong they are lovely but I feel inadequate compared to them. You will soon get back into your groove and find it gets easier and dont let anyone make you feel inadequate - do what i did and ask for support and blame baby brain and my early senility!!!! Anyway they probably dont have kids yet and dont realise how hard it is to juggle both.Keep your spirits up and remember you are super -your a mum .Best wishes Kathy

well, where to start lol il keep it short, its obvious your going to feel like this as you will still be hormonal and newly back to the job, i would say just keep asking how you can help more with the other colleagues problems, possibly explain that coz your newly back your abit anxious about getting stuff wrong, am sure theyll appreciate this dont worry i volunteer at alot of different practices as im looking for a SVN job so i met new people everyweek and im terribly shy so i have to overcome this all the time lol! if you just ask questions or explain your situation people will react more positively to you than if you stay silent
