Keep the cat kennel away from other dog if poss to reduce stress. Cats like a place to hide when they are nervous I try and put a large rabbit in the kennel if I can depending on their condition, or covering up their kennel with a towel some cats wont toliet in the litter try because their usual routine is to go outside putting soil in sometimes helps. By warming the cat food so pray temp instead of straight from the fridge. Dogs may need a little more TLC as they come from a home with a family that give them a lot of attention and they are use to lots of human company or the may only go to the toilet on the grass . I did quite well on my assignment if you send me your email address I cant send you parts of it so you can get a better Ide. :)

You want to be thinking a little bit about different their different housing requirements and where you would house them (busier/quieter areas), exercise requirements, likeliness of conditions such as hyperthermia, different nutritional requirements and calculations.

When doing these assignments I found it helpful to think of the process of admitting and caring for these patients and think back through my day. You may find a little inspiration on your hospital records etc. If this is the assignment I'm thinking of (critical care) I don't believe you are required to write a lot about the species specific requirements as you need your word cound in other parts of the assignment

Hope this helps

Re: Strssed student

I,ve written about rabbits needing more intensive nursing but not sure whats different about cats and dogs.
