I became a CC after graduating in July 2008 - I am glad I did it after gaining 4+ years of in practice experience and different practices aswell, it just makes me more able to give better advice and training.

However, its not too long ago that I did my training so I have found its still quite fresh in my mind and like Ffion said I can still relate to my students

Therefore I do think some experience is necessary and i think some colleges wanted 2+ yrs experience first, they are however quite desperate for CC's and training rpactices at the moment so I don't think they put a specification down for how long.

Hello,

I became a CC in October 2012, after graduating from my BSc in July 2012. I think more experience is ideal, but doing it sooner has meant that my training is still fresh in my mind, so I can relate to my students a bit more.

I did my CC training with the College of Animal Welfare.
