- used to see a lot of parvo where I used to work. within the practice a spag bog was a parvo puppy with roundworms - and we used to see a lot of them

I love the noise of the linea alba being cut!! Its a fantastic noise almost like a zip!!

Crunching bones freak me out though!

has to be haemorrhagic D+ on an empty stomach after a night on call, the smell stays with you all day!! oh and eye bogies

In the early days of my career I used to have a real problem with bitch spays when the vet would go thro the linea alba, Im not sure why it bothered me but it took a while for me to get past being icked out by it.

I cannot stand the sound of crunching bones, broken legs flapping in the wind, holding limbs under ga whilst the vet amputates and anything to do with eyes makes me feel very ill!

Was just thinkinbg of some of the BONES and think it was CSI l have seen latley. Humans had no eyes and maggots crawling out the sockets and brain cavity and mouth, nose ears etc. Anyone see those programmes

I am not usually but one waving 2 inches from my nose and another about to deposit on me was disconcerting. Maggots l often pull out by hand and squash or drown, depending on size.

how can I ever forget!

Would like to add that was after he had already had 2 doses of drontal! - so how many worms he had in the first place is anybody's guess! was followed up with a milbemax - and now he is the huge wormless thunderguts of a cat - at least when he had worms he was thin and you could actually stand his weight on your knee!

Good job I aint that phased by worms

Sat on Sals chair, Morris (still new to Sals's house) climbs over my shoulder and kneads my lap, in the way cats do, he shoves his *** in my face. I am about to push it away when a white wriggly thing waves at me out of his arsehole.

No 2 small grains of white rice wave at me, one slightly below and ready to fall off his fur onto me. I give a mutted scream and gibber totally forgetting the words. I clamp Morris in a crush grip so he doesn't move and the items fall onto me.
Sal realises l have finally lost my marbles but eventually gets the message and grabs a tissue and wipes off the moving white grains of rice, I throw Morris off my lap

Lol, funnily enough that was the first thing i did when a puppy pooed worms (there were more white wiggling worms than there was faeces!) bleurgh!!

worms are the worst! thankfully never seen them 'in real life' yet, but the pics etc are bad enough! i dont know what the heck i would do if an animal deposited a load of worms in front of me.......

yeh i forgot about intestinal worms! i have to say ive rarely seen live roundworms but on the occasions i have i did find them yakkworthy!!!!!

yes intestinal worms never really bothered me and then I was asked to to help pm a puppy that may have died of FB. I have never seen so many worms living (and yes some of them were still alive even tho the puppy had been dead @12 hrs) in a dogs intestine.

I have the photos somewhere - and have used them to show anybody that is in doubt just why they should be worming their puppies.

i'm new here ( although i have been lurking for a while), and just wanted to say that i agree with the maggots - eewww!

really big fat ticks make me gag too! the little skinny ones are ok, but when they are all engorged

intestinal worms are my biggest hate though - in fact anything wormy or snakelike - i just cannot abide them! i feel a bit queasy just typing this!

Eeek! Did anyone see Heston Blumenthal's Medieval Feast? I'm pretty sure it was Lamp Ray Eels that he served up! Apparently they were a delicacy back in the day...

Also... I find leeches faascinating too... I just prefer them when they don't have my leg attached to them... hehe xx

Some friends and I went sailing in a lake up in New England/Canada border. We decided it would be fun to drag on a rope along the boat, there were about 5 in the water.
