My budget only allows me to places such as Newcastle upon tyne where the rent is 250-280ppm. The nearby college offers studies in veterinary nursing but it is not on the

Re: Registered or not.......

hi, there are colleges in the north east you can attend to obtain the qualification

http://awardingbody.rcvs.org.uk/document-library/list-of-centres/

were you looking at the advanced diploma information?

the college you mention in preston is myerscough i expect and i very very much doubt that they will stop providing the course as they have been doing so for years and are currently advertising for another lecturer.

regarding if vets will employ registered nurses more then in my experience if you apply for a job for a qualified nurse and you have have qualified since 2003 but are not on the register employers would employ someone on the register over you. this is because only nurses on the register (or those on the old style list still) can complete schedule 3 tasks such as taking bloods etc.

Re: Registered or not.......

Not sure I can be of much help but as I study at Newcastle college thought I might try

There are many different routes in to VN training but Newcastle only have intakes of new students every September but if you found a placement, or even better, a full time, paid training position then you would enrol with both the RVCS and the college of your/your practices choosing.

You can start the course without a training place(some people were doing this when I started) but you need to find one pretty soon after you start as you won't be able to do the work! The college can help to a certain I extend I think.

Hope that helps
