Thanks for your comments. I don't mind the challenge and one of them will be due to qualify this year so then I'll be down to three :-)

There isn't a set number, it was always just a guideline. As long as there is evidence students are progressing appropriately with NPL there shouldn't be an issue!

I have four students at the moment. Two are due to qualify this year. I don't mind as I love being a CC. Juggling my Head Nurse duties in between

I'm not sure what the maximum, but if you feel happy to take on that amount of students and can support them adequately, then shouldn't be an issue.

You will be busy! Nothing worse than them all trying to complete at the same time, although the joy afterwards will be great!

Any chance of a locum CC for 1 day a week? Not offering.. are you near London?

It's very difficult when circumstances change which is what happened with us, we had two CC's and two students. One CC left and plan was to replace them with a qualified RVN/CC but we couldn't find anyone so had to take on another student. So that leaves one CC who is doing other roles also with three students. All of them are qualifying in summer (hopefully!) and are mainly on track but I can't spend the time with them that the RCVS stipulate, we are running a business also. It's so hard but I'm doing my best xx

A guideline is usually 2 students per CC. I think you need to sit down with your practice and discuss having 4 students. If you need to spend 2 days per week on average per student then you really cannot be doing anything else other than be a CC, and I think you'll still be stretched!

Are any due to complete soon? Any conflicts of dates, i.e. trying to finsh at the same time?

I've got three students and that's more than enough with everything else I do alongside!
