I've been advised to appeal again one of my task fails.

Has anyone ever done this? If so how long did it take for the RCVS to respond?

College are appealing on behalf of several students who all failed the same task, so I have two appeals going in.

I hope they reply. I only need to pass one more task to qualify. I don't expect my appeals will actual change anything but it's worth a go.

Re: Appeal on osce results

Hiya icklesal,

I put in two appeals as 'just in casers'

One was stating that the xray machine cross mark was faulty (it was so faint it was impossible to make out one of the cross bars and therefore made accurate collimation nigh to impossible);

The other was the failure of the drug bottle I tried to take a sample from, (the large rubber seal was so perforated with holes that when I put the needle into it the 'drug' spurted out from the other holes and covered me! - this was highly distracting and I spent a little while just dripping in shock with a horrified look on my face! I said to the examiner "asepsis has been broken" to which she curtly replied "clean yourself up and carry on"). To say I was a bit stressed and shaken up was an understatement, particularly as this was my first exam of the day! I felt absolutely sick...

Anyhow, despite that (maybe because of it?), I was very fortunate to pass everything. So, I would say do definitely send in your appeal. I did tell the examiner who was sitting outside the room (the one that tells you when and where to go) what had happened each time and made sure it was recorded / written down so I had a 'witness', so to speak.

I never had a response back from my appeals so I guess they were either effective or not necessary...dunno!

I hope that you are successful. It can't hurt to try...

Keep your chin up flower.
