Novartis used to do a complete pack, it was almost a briefcase of stuff... Could try them it was obviously very fortekor biased but the information and ideas were good. ...

dont have info sheets as such but we started doing ours about 6months ago and they have been a massive success!

we send a letter out to the client inviting them along. with this we attach a tick list for the client to go thru regarding changes in behaviour ie feeding,drinking,urination/bowel movements,condition,weight,mobility and any comments not listed. By doing this the client is already thinking about things before they come in and it is not just coming from us if you see what i mean.

we also ask them to bring a urine sample with them if poss or collect when come in.

within the clinic we then do a full head to toe exam a free blood pressure check,urine SG and dipstick.

On the whole a min of 1 out of every 3 has then opted for some sort of further treatment be it blood tests,mobility supplements or dental treatment of some sort.

Very pleased to also be catching alot of pre renal cases and hopefully successfully treating them slowing the progression.

No but don't forget prostate hyperplasia in entire dogs over 5!

I guess VN not allowed to do rectal (could ask vet to do quickly maybe?) but if you do screening biochem consider doing CPSE (enzyme that increases in BPH) too in entire males. Clinically significant disease well before obvious signs - haematuria, straining to urinate/defaecate, ribbon-like faeces etc.
