We do Whitstable. Private beach that is dog friendly 100% of the year, unlike the rest of the UK! Responsible dog walkers, all really nice. Great running stretch at Tankerton 1 mile up the coast!

Look on the 'Paws for a walk' website, they have loads of accommodation from b+b's to cottages + pubs all over the country + take anything from 1 to 6 dogs. Just stayed in one of their cottages in Settle + it was great

We always use www.imagineireland.co.uk and they are starting to list holiday homes in the mainland UK too. They are incredibly helpful & not too expensive. You can list your requirements & they will find you a nice holiday. We've had about 6 with them & each one has been better than the next!

Hire a crofting cottage on the Isle of Skye for a week and go walking there:

Might be further than you want to travel but I often go here http://www.oldewindmillinn.co.uk/ in Norfolk. Although its a pub it is a busy hotel as well with caravan spaces etc. Its in a rural area so a car is essential but there are some great walks nearby. Sandringham Castle is about 20 minutes away with fantastic walks for dogs (although you can't go in the gardens with them). You can take your dog into the pub with you if you want to eat/drink in there and the staff are very nice. The dog friendly rooms are in a separate annexe out of the main building so very handy for letting dogs out for late night toilet breaks!

I'd recommend the Nothumberland coastline. Loads of lovely beaches and some marvellous dog friendly inns, b&b's, hotels etc. If u want to go upmarket, wait til after March when they re-open and stay at Tillmouth Park Hotel in Cornhill-on-Tweed. I love it. My dogs loved it (we stayed in a cottage in the grounds and they had their own back garden to frolick in). It's way out in the middle of the countryside but within 10 miles of the coast and Holy Island and not far from Bamburgh Castle, Berwick on Tweed and just about 3 miles away from the Scottish border. Sunshine? Sometimes!

I don't know where abouts in the country you are now but there are lots of dog friendly cottages near to where i live in Staffordshie/Derbyshire. Lots of lovely walks either on the moorlands if you don't mind hilly climbs or miles of canals if you prefer it flatter.
