Just had email response from my lecturer at RVC - VNs are expected to be able to record whether the XRay was of diagnostic value. We should be able to say if there was an obvious fracture on the XRay but take care not to diagnose. So we should be logging the quality of the XRay not what was shown on it. HTH.

Same here, i get my students to record in the x-ray book for the exposures and position etc whether it was a good picture (clear not blurry etc) or what is wrong with it eg over/under exposed, film faults etc etc.

Though having thought about this does recording what the x-ray is actually showing other than whether the picture is good, does that count as diagnosing? hmm

I get my students to record the exposures, LGM, view and outcome on the xray sheet, these get scanned in to the computer for records.

That's what I thought but my CC says it's actually recording what was seen eg Fracture, etc Confused. Will have to ask a college tutor.

Do you not record the results in the xray book? Good, over exposed/under exposed, under/over devel, etc? That is what this is talking about.
