We have two of the little Intervet vaccine chillers in our consult rooms and we need to monitor the temperatures in them. I've been recommended the Shorelog Taskline data loggers (and there is another veterinary company that makes a similar

Re: Monitoring small vaccine fridge temperatures

Thanks for all the answers guys!!

Re: Monitoring small vaccine fridge temperatures

[quote user="Steph Smith BSc(hons) RVN"]

There are two bulbs in each probe which display a variety of green/red flashes to indicate if something has happened, e.g. memory is full or the temp is outwith the set parameters if they have been programmed in.
Hi

I have 5 of these in use set to record the temperature every 5mins (records about 50 days worth) and have set the max mins apropriatly so they alarm and flash a red LED if they go over
I then save the reposts on our server (you could print them out and keep them in a file though), saves me a load of time and really easy :-)

we have this one in both the vaccine and lab fridges. Heeding the warnings that ALL electronic thermometers are inaccurate to some degree (no matter how much you pay for them) I double checked their performance against an ordinary fridge thermometer

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kitchen-Craft-Fridge-Thermometer-Stainless/dp/B0001IWVDK/ref=sr_1_3?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1353352232&sr=1-3

and they are both pretty much of a muchness. I get a pocket diary at the beginning of the year and write down the min /max temps inside the fridges a couple of times a day , I also have a min/max hanging on the wall of dispensary and record the temperatures in there daily. Total cost to the practice for two electronic , and a min/max greenhouse wall therm was less than 20quid ( ours were cheaper than the ones currently on amazon) Works for us but no doubt somebody out there will tell me I am doing it wrong? We passed our inspection with this system. Hope this helps.

Steer clear of the Scientific Oregan one - tried it out and it really isnt anywhere near accurate
