Im in my first year of college in Northern Ireland doing the 2 days college 3 days work, so far we've had one communications assignment, 2 exams (paper 1 and 2) and we're doing paper 3 in June :)

The assignment burden with central qualifications is huge, I'm in my second year with just one paper and practicals to go. We've had 28 assignments to do over the 2 years, all of which count towards the final qualification, as well as set homeworks, CSL and regular revision, let alone all the reading round that's required and not to forget the long hours of a full time job!! This is a very tough course but very worth it. But I do think this qualification is now totally different to the old RCVS one - tougher and much more assignment work. Nurses in my practice said they were never set homework and only had a few assignments to do. It appears the pass rate for central is low compared to RCVS (I don't know about city & Guilds)

17 assignment?! Woah, that's tough going! How many words each?

We only had communications assignment year one, none year two and four this year, and I reckon that's plenty :)

Hi, Yes I am doing Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Apprentiship, 2 days at college and 3 days in practice. Enjoying the course but found I am buried in aprox 17 assignments and have hardly any time for revision or CSL all at the same time. Sitting my 1st exam in June. The previous RCVS students that I work with (just qualified this year) have said theirs was a lot easier with only 1 assignment in the 1st year :(

I am also doing the level three diploma in veterinary nursing at abbeydale in monmouth. I work four days a week, have assignments, a CSL log to keep ip with and revision for mock tests each week. But really enjoying it 😊

I assume she's also doing a level 3 diploma as an apprenticeship, so if course is 2 days a week, the rest of the week must be spent in a training practice...

Just wondering how your doing it in 2 years with just two days a week?

I'm doing the level 3 diploma where i work 4days a week and then one day at college plus have loads of assignments!
