Forgot to add frequency - flea treatments are just as normal. Worming treatment varies I would imagine depending on practice protocol. We tend to recommend Panacur for pregnant dogs and follow the recommended scheduled-dose from day 40 of pregnancy through to 2 days post whelp. Start puppy worming at 2 weeks, and then every 2 weeks after. Unfortunately we see too many pregnant dogs where the owners didn't realise what had happened (!) so tend to administer Milbemax asap.

These are the products we keep in stock:

Milbemax (both dog and cat) - safe for pregnant/lactating animals

Drontal cat - no studies to show can be used during pregnancy, but okay during lactation

Drontal plus - can be used during preg (not to exceed rec. dose) and lactation

Profender - fine for pregnancy/lactation

Panacur liquid - fine for pregnancy/lactation

Practic - no evidence to prove safety

Frontline combo (dog/cat) - fine for pregnancy/lactation

Advocate isn't recommended or discouraged for pregnant or lactating animals! Its use is on a risk-assessment basis, i.e let the vet decide first.

Advocate I believe is safe. Milbemax is also safe.

Just to add to this, I also find invaluable if you are responsible for the ordering of stock in your practice, how many bandages in a pack, x-ray envelope sizes, tablet sizes etc though our supply company now have an online ordering system so this may not be so important as it is online for you to see.

What blood tubes are used for what? e.g serum gel for posting, edta for whole blood, lithium heparin for biochemistry etc

useful phone numbers - supply company, external lab

anaesthetic flo rates, fluid rates, drug dosages

If you have any special treatments you make up yourself, eg cyclosporin for dry eye, treatment for corneal ulceration etc etc

I guess the list is endless and depends on what size of a book you have!!

Also have info about flea/worm treatments: timescales, what they include, whether they can be used during pregnancy etc. This always comes in handy!

Yep, I have one too - invaluable I find! I have similar to yours - oestrus cycle, fluid therapy rates, small furries TPR ranges, bunny GA drug dosages, plus a little help with drug calculations (not my strong point!) so mg/ml and mg/kg and % solutions etc. I'd be most upset should mine go walkies!

I have one! I have the same as you along with all calculations, bits about reptiles/exotics that often comes in handy, and anything else I'm told by people that I want to remember!
