Having started my Access to HE Diploma this week I am seeking a work experience placement around my part time studies to both give me a good basis for when I do hopefully enter university in 2013 and also to meet the entry requirements

Re: Attaining work experience

Thanks Alice, that is reassuring. i was worried that my persistance may come accross as badgering and cause a nuisance, which is not what i want to be to any one, especially not someone prospectively offering me an opportunity.

as i emailed most of them nearly 2 and a half week ago i will wait until monday when everyone is fresh faced and not just saying no so that they can crack on with the weekend.

when i was looking for work experience i found the best way is to persist. i wrote to a practice then if they hadnt replyed after about 2 weeks i would ring up and ask to speak to the head nurse about work experience placements as i sent a letter/email in about 2 weeks ago asking for some. then you find out for sure whether they can offer you something if not then you move onto the next one. i ended up with 3 practices offering me work experience for the same week, which wasnt ideal as i wanted to go to all three but through persistance they offered me some.

hope this helps a bit and good luck with getting some work experience and your uni application :)
