I have used both stainless steel & plastic kennels. Both have pro & cons but have noticed the plastic ones get scratched & could potentially pose a contamination problem.

I have recently bought new kennels for a branch we have just opened and found Plaztex where the better company and better kennels if this helps. I find the stainless tseel ones too noisey for scared cats

I prefer the plastic ones - they are not as cold, and we once had a cat that was absolutely terrified of its reflection in a metal kennel - a one off, but still quite a problem at the time as we had nowhere else to put it.

I have used both and have no preference except to say that the metal ones can be very noisy if there is a howling dog or stomping rabbit as it gets magnified.

Doors come off both easily for cleaning.

A lot of the plastic kennels come with a door made up of metal squares as opposed to the narrow rectangles seen with shoreline- this means that some of the attachments for drip pumps do not fit the square doors as the spaces are too wide.

I like the Clark cages for cats and these come as a flat pack. Stainless is fine for dogs but I find them quite noisy and unfriendly for cats. There were some kennels on here in the news section a good while ago been made by a double glazing company - have looked and looked but cant find them

i prefer the stainless steel kennels as have found in the past that the plastic ones especially can give static shocks if used with certain beddings!

I really prefer the stainless steel ones, the doors can be removed for scrubbing and even after a length of time the look in good condition. The only problem is that the floor seem cooler but when lined with newspaper or a kennel liner this ceases to be a problem.
