We don't pass or fail these - we just get feedback, and apart from a couple of pointers my feedback was really good and the examiners told me I'd done really well - big confidence boost RVC organise them so we're prepared for the real thing, which'll be in Dec. It was good cos they showed us how the electronic timing screens work and nag at you while you're doing the scenario plus we were examined by ppl we'd never met, not our tutors who for the last year have tested us on practical stuff, so it was a bit nerve racking.

We had 6 stations and 2 rest stations and had to do CPR (I had the dog model the wrong way round, ie chest not spine against me and I forgot the bean bag, but other than that it was ok), admit a patient and get forms signed, restrain a patient for cephalic and jugular venous puncture and left metacarpal pad exam, calculate a dose of synulox and write up the label, dress a front paw (my bandage wasn't tight enough and the examiner managed to pull it off lol) and feed a patient via naso/oseophageal tube having calculated the RER and chosen the correct food.

Probably sounds pretty basic to most of you lot, but I'm just at the end of yr 1. Think I'll be OK in Dec for the real thing now I know what to expect and even though we'll have double the stations. Yesterday was really helpful and in a funny way I quite enjoyed it
