 I&amp;#39;ve worked for a long time for a great sea turtle charity in Greece. Its because we are almost entirely staffed by volunteers, so you have to be there long enough to be trained up to work completely independently (and in turn help train newer vols). It is a new route and I haven&amp;#39;t done it myself, would require you getting a bus/taxi from airport to the bus station, then a coach to Athens (about 4 hrs, about 20 euro). The flights were pretty cheap when I last looked but unfortunately can&amp;#39;t advise further. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You could also get a cheap flight to Zakynthos (Zante) and then get a coach from there to Athens - it will go via Patras too, but its easy, you just get on the coach on the island and it takes you all the way, on the ferry and then on to Athens. Dunno about costs but wouldn&amp;#39;t be horrendous.&lt;/p&gt;
