It was turned on what was my fathers lathe using a piece of brass found in his workshop and was made by one of his best friends so is a very personal object- I had looked at these acorns on line a number of times but something always got in the way of me ordering one. Just before Christmas I had planned something else but obviously wont be needing that now.

very similar but not the same as this one but made in brass

Re: cremation options

As you may know l had Brian's ashes put into a ring with Ases into Glass and went down and watched them make the crystal. When l was about half an hour away l decided to have a paperweight made for Craig who is very close to Brian & l and thought of Brian as his Dad. Unfortunatly l wasnt able to watch them make that as it wasn't time factored but he was in tears when it arrived out the blue.

I chose Blue as that was Brian's favourite colour and the colour of his eyes this is my ring the gold Sygnet. The white speckles are the ashes the 2 bright white dots are flash back from the cam flash.

I remember reading a flyer by an ashes to glass company a while back and thought it was a beautiful unique way of storing ashes.

especially as some of the caskets from the crematoriums arent the nicest, I have a photo frame with a photo of my little beasty in with his ashes in the back. x

Re: cremation options

Leyland Pet Crematorium have a few more options now, apart from the lovely carved wooden boxes.

You can get a box with a space for a photo, which I thought was really nice. Or for cats, you can get a carved wooden cat or one sitting on a book.

Really nice ideas.

as some of you may remember I was looking for a special piece of jewellery earlier this year. Still havnt found what I wanted and looks like I will have to have something designed. Although very popular across the pond there is so little selection over here, and I am reluctant to buy something I cannot see properly.

I see a potential business opportunity for anyone who is inclined, especially if there is little choice in this country and you have to basically order from abroad.

Re: cremation options

as some of you may remember I was looking for a special piece of jewellery earlier this year.
I have one of my dogs and cats ashes at present, Jack my cat is on top of one of the kitchen units(his favourite spot) and Winema is on my unit in the livingroom, with a clear view of the street, as she liked a good old nose out the window.

I think I might have some jewellery made though.
