Will be my last one though. I do want to decorate with smileys, but heck .... somehow I can't figure it out anymore. Would this be due to that little piece of chromosome I am lacking..... Well, I'll try it the old fashioned way with semicolons and dashes. :)

Caro, if you read this, would you like your biltong dry or extra dry (like we take it in the field)? I wonder what’s “within reason” for you … ;) ;). I prefer bobotie btw. It’s been a long time since I was in Zimbabwe (is that politically correct?).:)

O Saskia …… Irish, eh? Well that explains a lot ……;) No, I was not in a bad mood, but I have to admit that I was a bit sad. You see, I joined this thread for a few laughs with you girls and absolutely not to annoy you. But I did read your follow ups and knew that you realised that I was joking. However, I replied with the reply button which doesn’t allow me to review or to place smileys and I really can't figure it out anymore. When I pressed on post it was all there in all its glory. On rereading it, it looked much more dramatic than I intended, but then I thought “hah, that will teach you!”....:) :) I think it worked, didn’t it? No hard feelings? :)

STRVN, (strange name btw; how do you pronounce that?) I got your message and thanks that at least you enjoyed our little picking game.:) I felt the same way and that’s the way it should be, but if there is even only one person who seriously takes offence at my cheeky remarks the game is over for me. My intention was to bring some fun and get some back, nothing else.
You’re probably right by saying that you women have a better understanding of the male species. Biologically this is not such a smart thing to say though (male species?), but alas, I forgive you …;) At least for me, I would say that you probably have a better understanding of the female “species” too, because I feel that I made a complete mess of this thread, didn’t I? :)

Sarah, I will keep it brief, because whatever I say won’t change your opinion about me. But I was deeply shocked by how you portrayed me. You were very fast with your judgement, but you have no idea how wide off the mark you are. I do make mistakes, a lot of them, but the last thing you would ever count against me is disrespect for women. And how can you say that I am looking down on vet nurses in England? Guess what, I married one and ..... she’s English too (I know, you can easily use this against me ;) ).

I am well aware of the fact that we don’t know each other and you can’t see my expression when I ventilate my propositions. That’s exactly the reason why I insert all those smiling faces. On no account would I ever want you to think that I am seriously trying to insult you. All the girls in this thread recognised that (I hope), unfortunately you didn’t.

You know, Sarah, what shocked me most is that I obviously upset you so much. In my philosophy, hurting or offending someone is a personal failure. That’s why I took this very personally. Maybe I scratched a wound not healed yet, I don’t know. Anyway, I don’t blame you anything, Sarah. No hard feelings.

That’s it, girls. Again, I am sorry for messing up a thread that was supposed to be fun. I think I better stay away from forums in the future.

Hamba kahle (be well) and a smile :)

what is a shame is that you are a vn so are of the same "breed" as us women as you want to help animals but eventho you say you trained in britian this wasnt the first thing we was told, instead you deemed it proper to throw it in all our faces that you now work in africa with wild animals which i will admit is a dream job but you then proceeded to say its a mans job!! so basically you just broadcast that you think your better than everyone else on here, personally i couldnt give crap because ive been with a man very similar to your manners and suffice to say it didnt last long as he was more in love with himself, and dont come across saying i must obviously hate men as i dont ive been with a lovely man for 4 years and i am still very happy, the difference between them was the one im with now doesnt see women as inferior which you obviously do eventho you work in a predominately female job (ever thought of that?), however others on here may actually take your words offensively and this is why you should be careful, not as a threat just because you might actually be upsetting someone which neither gender should be proud of as obviously these forums are sometimes used for members with problems and its people like you who dont help just make them feel worse

the fact is you are not helping anyone so maybe in future you should stear clear of forums such as this or start one about women!

Re: MEN!!!!

Thanks Strvn

My impression was that this was a thread with a wink and that’s the reason I jumped in. There’s too much misery in this world already, isn’t it? But now I start thinking that you girls are dead serious about your disrespect for men. How frustrated can you get? Did you sink so deep and are you so blinded by desperation that you even don’t recognise the sincerity when a man says sorry?

South Africa is a melting crucible of a lot of different cultures with quite some Buddhistic influences. According to Buddha you cannot hurt a person more than refusing a gift from the heart. An apology is a gift from the heart and saying that I didn’t mean it at all is a major offense in my country, Saskia.

Also, we have a proverb saying “so die waard, so vertou hy se gast”, which means something like “the host trusts his guests like he can be trusted himself”. Just let this sink in a bit …..

I really don’t know what’s wrong with you girls. Are you so numbed by lack of respect you apparently receive from your English husbands? Are you so deep-rootedly frustrated?
