I am organising an open day for our practice and was wondering if I could pick your brains to see what ideas you have or what you have found successful on your open days?
I have arranged a Funny Photobooth for pets, face painter

Re: Open Day

Thanks guys! We also had a marquee with stalls from local animal charities. We have a large field within the grounds of the practice so had a bouncy castle; a local dog agility group did a display and one of our large animal clients took some of their alpacas along and had a table with information about them. We had a BBQ & teas/coffee. The weather wasn't great but it was very busy and I think from the feedback it was enjoyed by both staff & clients. Good luck with your open day

Re: Open Day

we had face painting, dress up as a surgeon for the kids (and photos), bandaging a tour through the building with info on what happens in each room. Guess the foreign body xrays, an area dedicated to pet insurance, and we invited some local charities along to have stalls in the car park ie CPL pat dogs, sspca, local rehoming shelters, and an exotic pet guy to do a bugs and beasties demo for the kids. oooh ooooh and ballooons! we were near the town centre so I walked into town with balloons with my face painted as a cat and brought people back with me. we also had information about what the praactice was before it was a practice (it used to be a farm steading, owned by a family that are still farming in the area, and are also clients), right the way through all the changes of partners up to modern day now!

Maybe take them through what caring for an inpatient does.
