A nurse is a very valuable staff member in a practice.

I have almost completed my veterinary nurse training and found Amazon a great place to get cheap books. The books i would recommend are 'How to get through NVQ 2/3 vet nursing'.

Re: Extra Study Material

LOL. No - it offended me too but I didn't like to say. I have the grades to go to vet school but have absolutely no desire whatsoever to be a vet I don't think Ellie meant it badly though. Just not thought through what she wanted to say before starting to type.

Re: Extra Study Material
Don't want to upset but i don't like the comment "don't feel i'd make the grades as a vet so next best thing is to be a nurse". Nursing is it's own profession, we are not people who are too thick to be vets (not that i am clever enough to be a vet, but then i don't want to be either!).

Getting to the topic, how about registering with the BVNA, you'd get a monthly journal with them. Can't remember how much the subscription is but i'm sure you could find out online.
You could even say that some qualified nurses know just as much if not more than a vet in some circumstances. I don't think that's fair either to say one is a nurse just because they didn't have the grades to be a vet. It takes just as much to be a nurse just different.
