my sympathies kezza, my nan died at 3am monday, also eventually of pneumonia (that is what was on her death cert anyway) as the end of other problems so I know roughly how you must be feeling xx

Thanks peeps, she was very poorly anyway but fell over a week last thursday and broke her hip. To cut a long story short she had diabetes, renal failure, got C.Diff in hosp, caught a chest infection which then developed into pneumonia... etc etc. Just got the ball ache of sorting the funeral out amongst other things.

I know how you feel, it has recently been discovered that my nan has cancer in her breast, lungs, liver, kidneys and poss bone so it's only time.

hmmmph after the last post... I normall get my nan and mum a car and prezzie, so far today I've gotten a phone call to say come ASAP within the next few hours (nan in ICU ward)... never a good thing, so didn't bother wising my distraught mum or poorly nan a happy mothers day

mmmmm, probably just get my mum and nan a card, nan has just broken her hip after a nasty fall so is still in hospital (flowers and chocs a no go as she is diabetc and in hosp) so I've decided to get my mum tickets to see the Queen musical. Kind of a joint birthday/ mothers day gift.

I sent my mum a card through the post but prob wont speak to her. Unfortunately we dont get on very well and shes lucky she even gets a card.

Given the choice l would do the same ST however l once when l lived in Tenerife made the mistake of missing mothers day. Different country different celebrations. I am still reminded to this day about it. FFS and in the next breath my Mum says she doesnt belive in it... yeah right.

well apart form Xmas and birthdays..... everything else is a commercialised crock of ****

Sorry to all you guys who do celebrate these things, and its not like I am out in the shops protesting, it's just not my thing at all.Yes I know I am a mother, but personally i think they could be spending there money on far better things than spoiling me or lining the pockets of some retailer
