I've been in practice for 7 years and recently whether its due to increase work load or me getting older, but my stress levels have increased dramatically and dont seem to be able to switch off, which will inevitably affect my job and feelings

Re: Stress

I have used this helpline and website in the past, and no doubt will again in the future

Does your work have a number for a helpline at all? I think we have one on the noticeboard which I can find for you if you like. I've used them myself a couple of times, and it just helps to talk things over with someone who won't just say what you want to hear, like friends and family will often do!

Other than that, I agree with the others, having a active life outside of work, and exercise too? Yoga and running help me beat stress!

You probably know this one already but my top tip would be ensure that you have plenty of friends outside work, have an active social life / fun /play time and ensure that you make sure you find plenty of things outside of life that make life worth living. I.e. don't just live for work!

Sal the 1st is fab for helping to take stock, work out how to deal with work issues, etc so hopefully she will see your post. She's one of the wise old birds of the forum.

Hope things improve soon,
