I'm obviously nervous and excited about starting, also don't know what to expect!
Just wondered if anyone had any advice about starting a new job?? like signing of contracts

Re: my first rvn job advice!

Don't take constructive criticism personally. We hired and fired two in the last 6months, who just couldn't help but take every single bit of friendly advice and help, or instruction on our policy ... personally! It will be overwhelming, but just take it all in.

I found cleaning and organising was the best way to a) keep busy and show work ethic while b) finding out where everything lives.

Re: my first rvn job advice!

Have a little notebook in your pocket so you can make notes of handy things and can refer to it, i also have my own scissors as i find i spend most of my time searching for them!

Good luck

Handy timesaver. :)

Re: my first rvn job advice!

Hi, the vets will expect you to know where everything is in the practice. I recommend going through all the cupboards in the practice so that you'll remember where to find things quickly when you need them. If it is a nice practice I'm sure they'll give you time to settle in and will not expect you to know everything straight away and should be supportive. good luck.
