I think better guidance from the RCVS as to what colleges should be teaching will be a huge help. Two of my SVNs last year had a number of questions on equine infectious diseases, yet in the syllabus there is nothing to say equine infectious diseases are covered so they weren't taught it. For my students they have picked up that it was the equine topics that were sticking points here but how much equine should colleges be teaching on the small animal pathway?

well the high fail rate should be saying something to people by now its been going on long enough. So what is the problem? - is it the training at fault? or the exam at fault? - time to acknowledge the system is screwed and do something about it maybe or is that too easy?

One thing is for sure a nigh on 50% resit is a nice little earner for somebody with all those repeat exam fees

The fail rate was just under 50% for paper 2 last year as well...

well that changed from yesterday!!

when looked with student they had listed 300 candidates with 151 passing and 149 failing, i didn't realised they didn't publish all together! thats a better rate then

It's a 36% fail rate as far as I can see!
