I believe the VCA training is indeed more hands on than the ANA, but once you're qualified, the nursing responsibilities in practice are similar. (Although we do offer the VCA, we don't offer the ANA, so if there's someone on here who does offer the ANA, please feel free to correct me.)

As far as I am aware there is no difference between ANA and VCA - I looked at both for the two nursing staff at work and they both cover the same stuff as far as I could see

Hi Laura!

The VCA is academically equivalent, so if you're already an ANA there's no need to take the VCA course. There's no difference in your responsibilities at work, as far as I'm aware.The next step on from both those courses is the Level 3 Veterinary Nursing diploma.
