Eish am worried am about you Mark. Obviously you want stabbing in the head l am sure folks will oblige if you ask. Failing that grow your hair keep it in a pony tail and make sure your pen is handy, that way you can get stabbed without looking kinky by asking people to stab your head.

I thought I carried a lot! But in comparison not a lot at all! :P

I carry my fob watch and name badge on my tunic, and TRY to keep a biro in one of my tunic upper front pockets. Though, I do keep putting it down to write something, then forget to replace it.... but which time somebody else has nicked it! Pens are gold dust in our place!!

In my main pockets I keep my dressing scissors, a calculator, lots of hair bands, hair pins and notes of any sort for that particular day!

It's a pain when you wash your tunic and you have to unload it every time! haha.

I went on a home visit once for a euth and ended up with cat poo in my pocket that I couldn't deal with until I had left the house. Not fun

I'm not in practice anymore so don't wear a uniform, but I have noticed that every single jacket, coat, hoodie or handbag I go to use seems to have poo bags in it, even the posh ones!

Wow, some people carry a lot on them!

On my tunic I always wear my name badge& fob watch (although mine needs a new battery at the minute) and in my pockets I have a pair of scissors, a few pens, a poo bag, length of bandage, possibly micropore and random notes from throughout the day :)

I can't believe how much some on you carry round with you!! Lol I have on my name badge and RCVS pin, will get my fob watch back when I get round to changing the battery. In my tunic pockets are a pen, my scissors (with a keyring so no one steals them) and usually a piece of paper with general notes on. My mobile is in my trouser pocket. ETA: I never use to ave my mobile on me and it irritated me when others did, but my boyfriend was in hospital for months end of last year/start of this batling leukaemia and I couldn't bear not to have it on me as an immediate source of contact, he's home now, but I'm stuck in the habit...and still worried he might need me suddenly.

I keep mine on me because it has so many uses.

I dont know how many times I needed a calculator when I cant find one in the kennels! I also keep it on me as I really dislike leaving mine in my bag. Some of the new BSAVA apps are life savers too.

nope, mine always go walkies or are used too much to start leaking lol

I've noticed a lot of people have their mobiles on them, is there a reason for this? I know I put a mobile on my list but that is my work mobile and I HAVE to have it on me otherwise I get moaned at that people can't find me...our place is massive so can easily miss people. None of my family have that number, if they need to get hold of me they can ring the main reception and get put through to my mobile from there, but in my experience other practices aren't that big to need to carry a mobile round with me

On tunic collars, RVN and degree Badges

Name embroidered onto uniforms so no name badge.

In pockets:

multiple pens

curved dressing scissors

memory stick on a lanyard

practice keys

car keys

poo bags

sometimes a sharpie

random bits of paper, examination gloves,

cordless phone (so reception can get hold of us without chasing us round the building) kennel nurse shift mainly though

Rarely wear my fob watch as I always end up bashing it against the work surface, table when i bend over.

On my tunic is my VN badge, my name badge and my fob watch.

In Right tunic pocket are 2 biros and my scissors with keyring so I can chase them down when needed...

In left tunic pocket is a syringe for cuffing and my keys and any reminder notes on bits of paper.

In my right trouser pocket (I have green cargo style trousers with big pockets on the legs) is my notebook

In the left trouser pocket is my mobile (on silent)

1-2 pens which are usually stolen by passing vets
fob watch
stethoscope
thermometer
scissors
lip balm
mobile
tissue glue
scraps of paper with notes/things to do on

I always have:

A pen, curved scissors (with a cannula lid on it to stop holes being poked in my pocket), 3 sets of nail clippers (cat, medium & large), surgery keys, pad, and a serum gel tube (used to hold my lip studs when I'm working) then I have my fob watch and RCVS badge on.

then any bits of paper i aqumalate thro the day

oh and usually a roll of tape and I always carry a diary round with me (A5 page a day) so I can write anything down

unfortunately our hospital is so big if I didn't have all that stuff I would spend even more time running round trying to find what I need when I need it lol

several normal pens
a black sharpie
a red sharpie
a pair of curved scissors
a pair of dressing scissors
2 pairs of artery forceps
2 highlighters
my locker and dd keys
my swipe card
thermometer
work mobile

then i always wear my fob watch/name tag and always have my slip lead and stethoscope round my neck....think that's it!

Luckily I bought myself a "pick-pocket" pouch so the stuff doesn't fall out and knock some poor unsuspecting creature out!!!
