Off to work commute last week was 180 miles left 03:30 arrived around 07:00 08:30 started 10hr shift.. night to digs commute 8.5 miles where l in bed ... the joys of locum work

Do a 40 mile round trip which takes about 30 mins each way - mainly motorway driving. I used to live about 3 miles for a previous practice and that took about 20 mins to drive as was in the suburbs of a city. I dont mind driving, which is good

My last job was a 66 mile round trip and I hated it! Such a waste of time sitting in the car! Now do 11 mile round trip...perfect! No more leaving home at 7am

I commute a round trip of 26 miles (20 mins each way). I wouldn't want to commute further - I have done in the past though as a locum. I don't know how most VN jobs are financially viable with very long commutes as the petrol costs and wear and tear on the car must be massive! We do have a VN at work though that has had her car converted to run on gas instead and apparently her commuting costs are very low (she commutes about 150 miles/day).

(mind u have done my fair share of awful commutes in my nearly 50 years of life so fair's fair!)

I do just over a 50 mile round trip. Fortunately I love driving and as long as I have my tunes blasting, I'm happy.

I walk across the road to work as I live in practice accommodation which is great as I love my bed lol.

Bought house when husband worked in Newcastle so house was half way for both of us.....two months later he got a new job in the town I work in!

We commute together so extra time together

Pants for my half days as he doesn't get them and pants for him when I don't finish on time but by and large works well for us.

Good job we don't mind driving, or visiting the petrol station!

I live about 13 miles from work takes about half hour to get there in rush hour, i dont think i could stand anymore than a half hour commute! I hate driving!

I live in the same villiage as my practice and only have a mile and a half round trip. Much better than the 16 miles that could take hours esp in the summer as I had to use the main road bringing tourists into the area. Only problem is that I like to stay in bed as long as possible in the morning so tend to end up driving even though it probably isnt much quicker, and if I have trouble getting out of one road it doubles the journey time which I never leave time for.

Live at the end of the corridor so open the door and I'm there ;)

However before I had a3 hour, 2 train and bus journey to get here so a fair wee bit!

I live five minutes drive from my place of work so 3 mile round trip!
