the salry thing will vary alot depending were in the country u are.

there are good and bad points to the job.

the hours can be long and are deff not usually 9 TO 5pm.

i love seeing animals come in bad and walk back out after treatment. on the other hand u do have to see animals that have been mistreated and talk to owners that have not got a clue how to look after themselfs let alone a dog/cat!!

salary as as tudent aint always that good but i dont think it is a job that u do if u want a high paid job.

the main prob alot of people will have is finding a tp with a student job going. when u find one you need to register with the RCVS and start at college. diff colleges run diff. some will do bloke release and some will do day release. the course is 2yrs ( if u pass 1st time) and then u a qualifed vet nurse. within those 2 yrs you will have to do a nvq portfolio for each year and a set of exams at the end. the 1st yr is 2 wrtten exams and the 2nd yr is 2 written and a set of practicles.

i hope some of this makes sense and helps alittle. x x

Re: Newbie

Hi Little Otter,

Firstly, welcome to vetnurse

Regarding the job, pay, tp etc, there have been a lot of threads posted on it lately so the best thing for you to do is have a search around the forums and hopefully many of your queries will be answered that way.

Good luck for monday!
