If its the same law as over here the dogs are temperament tested fairly quickly, its the appeals that take years, hence why the dog has been kenneled for so long. I cant speak for this specific case but here they are tested within a few days of being seized, this may be dependant on area.

If they fail the temperament test then the dog has to be euthanaised as it is deemed dangerous, if it passes it can be neutered tattoo'd and returned to the owner where it must be muzzled and on a lead at all times.

Obviously its very sad that they are PTS even when they have done nothing wrong but on the other hand they are illegal and if you own a 'type' dog your better off getting it tested, neutered and tattoo'd yourself then you wont end up losing your dog.

Interesting; after keeping the dog in a kennel for 2 solid years, and their expert claims the dog is "unpredictable"? I wonder why that could possibly be?

He was taken away from the family in 2010 so it's been going on for a while but only fairly recently got a lot of media attention, when appeals to prevent euthanasia failed

Oh no! I thought it looked like the case was lost but there was still desperate attempts to change it, I didnt think theyd euthanaised him straight away! Oh no!

Didn't the owners' lose the appeal a couple of days ago? I thought Lennox was euthanased Monday?

I agree that it is awful though :(
