Hey,

I did dilutions of skin disinfectants prior to surgery, as during my training I saw different ways of preping the skin of animals. It involved a lot of micro-biology and lab work, which was very interesting.

I would agree in that you should choose something that interests you.

i would say keep the subject simple. I looked at what interested me (parasitology) and narrowed it down to one parasite and then in the dissertation i explained why is was important to prevent infestations not only in pets but the dangers to pet owners as well. I found the research quite interesting.

i compared the biochemistry results of Male cats suffering from FLUTD to see if there was any corralation between the results rather than just urea and creat which people just normally check. I had access to the vet test machine at work and i was able to contact different vets who were able to provide me with data as well.

i know some one who examined the effect essential oils had on bacteria

i must admit i chose my topic a bit differently to other people, knowing that i was going to spend a year researching, carrying out and writting up my dissertation, i didnt want to chose a subject i loved only to be sick of it when i finished so i chose one knowing that i wouldnt mind and that i could get lots of data on.

I did mine on cat vaccination and the reasons why people do and don't vaccinate. Whatever you choose have a good thing about your data collection methods now to make your life easier when it comes to doing it! Emma

What are you interested in? When I was doing mine I had a particular interest in anaesthesia so I chose to base my dissertation in this area. You have to do something that interests you, otherwise you won't be motivated to do it.
