IVIS is also an excellent resource for up-to-date information on pretty much every topic you can imagine!!! It is an online source of congress proceedings from around the world - type IVIS into Google and you can register for free on it.

Vetsonline (type it into Google) is another online resource you can register with for free - it is the electronic Vet Times and Vet Nurse Times so it's easier to search topics in their search engine than hand search through hard copies.

Try Google Scholar!! My uni has it's own search engine for journal articles - your's might have the same. We're told they prefer journal article references as they like the most up-to-date research to be used for our assignments. HTH

Remember to use a broad range of texts and not just text books but journal articles too

i helped my student find references and we used the BSAVA manual of Practical Veterinary Nursing

A lot of books have referencing at the end of the chapters, also I done hyperthyroid cat for one and got all my references from an article on vn times, which are also at the end of the article, good luck, I have the last 2 essays to hand in on monday and i will be so glad to be done with them, I hate essays with a passion!! x

Have you tried google books? You might be able to find some stuff on there. Ive got 2 refs from the big purple bsava book, what about journals?
