To join vetsurgeon.co.UK, you can create account, but Arlo has set up that he authorises new applicants, you have to wait for at least 24 hours as he's not going to be sat at comp all the time. I have read the thread, it does work, its in the nursing part of vetsyrgeon forum.

HELP! I got impression from reading some posts that as a nurse you can join the site and will be able to see the "shared content"? i have tried on numerous occasions today to sign up, each time saying i am a nurse but it keeps telling me i am not able to join SO HOW DO I SEE THIS THREAD?!

Perhaps by sending a message to Arlo - the person who can fix whatever issue it is with your account?

I've just had a read of some of the more recent comments on the thread and I would ask a quick question - why are vets very aware that "newbie" vets still need continuing training once they get to practice but somehow vet nurses should be perfect at everything and know how to do all aspects of practical work straight from the off? I would expect that a vet should be able to do basic neutering but there's a large number of newly qualified vets I've seen that still need someone scrubbed in with them for a cat spay, why is this acceptable but not for nurses to still need a bit of guidance?

I'm obviously aware that nurses get a lot more time within practice during training than vets do but seriously, every practice does things slightly differently and even every vet within a practice will sometimes have a different way of working and different attitude to the same task. Are we supposed to be perfect AND telepathic?? If so I'd love to see how they get that on the syllabus!

Thank you Mark for highlighting this and thank you Arlo for making it accessible. Have just had a quick read and will be commenting later when I get in from work. Nice to see there are vets out there that are feeling the same way I do

It isn't. on the section that nurses can see. For what it's worth, I have asked and one or two others have also asked if the topic could be moved into the Nursing forum on vetsurgeon.org - I think it would be good if the vets and nurses could discuss this together.

I'd be interested to read this thread... As a nurse who failed my practicals in march, yes over silly things all because of nerves, I'm confident I will feel more comfortable at my re sits in July.
