I like your examples of name changes. Brings back some childhood memories.

Trigene = Anistel I know it's confusing and at Tristel we are trying to make this as simple as possible for Vets and Vet Nurses to get to grips with. Adverts are going in to VN Times, The Vet Nurse and Vet Practice to advise people so they don't get caught up and possibly buy a product that won't provide the protection previously offered. Just remember if you choose Anistel/Trigene there is no need for change and everyone (including the animals) is happy!

Why oh why do they have to keep changing the names of stuff???!!! First Marathon becomes Snickers, Opal Fruits - Starburst, Jif - Cif, now Trigene becomes Angi-wotnot. My brain can't cope

The tests for any disinfectant may not be valid where formulation changes have been undertaken over the years. Most disinfectants introduced five or six years ago have been required to be changed by regulatory authorities. Manufacturers make changes to colours, fragrances and need to change disinfectant constituents that get banned by Europe (happens a lot) - all this means that products get changed and are no longer the same as they were when originally tested. Most government authorities insist on re-tests where even a minor change has been made. Many of the tests referred to by these disinfectant manufacturers will have been conducted many years ago and because of the changes are probably not valid now. Apart from that, bugs mutate - as we know from the stories about anti-biotics beginning to fail in hospitals. Re-tests are important on a regular basis - especially when changes to product may have occurred. The Anigene tests are representative of all main viral, bacterial, mycobacterial and fungal groups for animals and are all very recently conducted. Medichem will get you a test or veterinary/ microbiological consultant written opinion to support whether the new Anigene product kills a particular organism

You are absolutely correct Steph! Tristel have been manufacturing TRIGENE ADVANCE, MEDIZYME, MEDDIS, MEDIHEX-4, MEDISCRUB NURSING HANDS etc on behalf of MEDICHEM for a number of years. The brands are being discontinued but the formulations remain exactly the same under the following brand names:

TRIGENE ADVANCE Anistel

MEDIZYME Enzystel

MEDDIS Medistel

AIRGENE Airstel

ODOGENE Odostel

All skin scrubs will come under the Dermastel banner.

All test data, dilutions, health and safety information remains the same.

You can still order it but it is being discontinued at the moment, Anigene will be taking over from it, we have been contacted recently.

Strange - we have just received lemon trigene from NVS.
