I applied for a position at an animal welfare college, once applications were closed I contacted them to find out what stage the applications were at (for my curiosity to be honest) and I am still wating for a reply, this was

Re: Does no-one have an courtesy anymore?!

Jazzy, I applied for mine and heard nothing, emailed and heard nothing, emailed again and heard nothing, emailed another department and nothing, called (internationally) and left messages and heard nothing...6 weeks passed and a friend of a friend attended a BBQ of the vet who...also had heard nothing! Anywhere departmentalized (i.e the admin or HR bods deal with applications) can be frustrating! Once my vet found out I'd applied, chased up the application, I was interviewed and offered the job within days and couldn't be happier in my perfect position! Point of the story is persevere!

Good luck :)

Re: Does no-one have an courtesy anymore?!

Quite simply, no. I apply on average for 60 jobs a day. No one actually gets back to you. I simply theorise that in contrast to 5 years ago when 20-40 people were applying for a job, its now averaging at 150-200. Its impractical.

Re: Does no-one have an courtesy anymore?!

Dear Jazzy,

If it was us, then I do apologize on behalf of the College of Animal Welfare - we have been recruiting for a few positions recently and have received quite a few applications! If you have applied with us, please message me your name and I can chase up where your application is.

(If it's not us, then please accept my sympathies - waiting for contact is certainly a stressful time; I've jobhunted a time or two myself!)

Kind regards,
