Surely it's not just me that has a terrible ink stain on my tunic pocket from a pen with no lid!
I've tried Vanish stain remover but it hasn't worked, anyone have a product they swear by?
Thank you :)

Re: Removing Ink Stains from my uniform?!

I got a brilliant spray from asda called "stain slayer" possibly stain devil ,cant remember. However it removed tar from a jacket so i think it would removed biro too.
It is great no staining after use, make sure you put some paper underneath the fabris though. Good Luck.

Re: Removing Ink Stains from my uniform?!

If you try rubbing any stains do it from the back of the cloth to the front or you rub the stains into the material instead of out.

Re: Removing Ink Stains from my uniform?!

surgical spirit is pretty good on a lot of the biro inks - soak as much as you can out that way then I usually rub some neat washing up liqid into it before washing as normal (ok so I am a cheapskate and dont use vanish )

Re: Removing Ink Stains from my uniform?!

Defo Oxyclean or Vanish powder. Soak, rub in, leave for a day (agitate occasionally), scrub if u have to (nail brush not too abrasive)... might take several goes but with patience and perseverance u can make a big difference/goes altogether. If u have tumble-dried the clothes before trying to get stain out, makes it harder...

Yes....I too have had an exploding pen...stained my skin too (blue boob is NOT a good look, LOL).

If you ave then it make it harder but it is possible to get out. I left a pen in my tunic pocket a few weeks ago and LOTS of my clothes were covered in it.

I doused all stains with resolve stain remover for 1 hr and then i soaked all clothes in oxiclean powder for 3 days, changin the water, scrubbing the stains with a nail brush and rinsing the clothes everyday and soaking again in oxiclean. I then rewashed everything and most of the stains came out except from a few things!

They say hairspray works aswell but never tried that before.....It took ages but some of my good clothes had been damaged hence why i tried so hard. Good luck!
