Got offered the job, but turned them down as they changed the hours to part time and were a bit vague and something didn't feel right about the job. Had an interview at a small vets so hoping something comes of that.

Had my morning there on Friday, and quite enjoyed it, spent most of the morning smiling So that's a good thing, also got wet and hairy lol! Lots of rinsing, shampooing and drying : s Owners were pleasant, they said you do get the odd aggressive one as you do. They had one small pool and one larger pool, but we didn't have to get in with the animal. They won't train me for a yr for level three as they have trained afew recently who have then left! But if I enjoy it I will say that I am happy to pay for the course if I leave within a year Of doing it. The hours are going to be long three days 9-7 and a Saturday 7.30 till 4. Every weekend at the moment, they have no set lunch time so it is grab it when you can, they are narch approved. And will be on about 15k don't think I was getting much more than that 5 yrs ago at the vets. So just waiting to see now.

It can be a little repetitive but each animal's character is different so it does make some of the cases slightly more challenging. The majority of the owners are lovely and once they get to know you then can be hilariously funny. It is rewarding to see the animals improving but sometimes you get one that hydrotherapy just isn't suitable for and this can be a tad frustrating. It certainly is worth shadowing someone there for the day, or even a morning if time is tight, as it will give you an idea of what to expect. I am still signed up with the RCVS as I work odd nights here and there as a nurse.

I'm doing alot of reading before the interview on weds, do you find the job still as rewarding? The lady on th phone said its repetitive, but I'm thinking as each animal is individual it won't be quite so, it sounds quite fun too, especially when the cases improve with each session. If they are interested in having me I will see if I can spend the day there to see what it entails and maybe on my day off I can go volunteer in my old practice. I wonder if if is worth staying listed with hydrotherapy? Have you remained signed up to the Rcvs? Sorry for all the questions.

I've done the small animal hydrotherapy course and have my own business. Still do a bit of nursing, now and again, just to keep me up-to-date
