It didn't make a jot of difference to my work in practice, I didn't do any CPD that you had to complete because it was a hassle to make sure/check things were AMTRA approved before doing them, and I didn't realise you had to pay an annual retention fee either - I pay enough of those to various organisations! That's all!!

Re: Is it worth training to be an SQP?

I let mine lapse as I didn't want the blame for the stuff my boss does (is an sqp also!) like our over the counter meds book is also our lost and found book!! Takes back meds from clients and re sells it instead of doop ing it!- even Internet drugs! Don't want anything or any responsibilities to do with meds/pharmacy!

Re: Is it worth training to be an SQP?

Oh great my boss has just paid for me to start the course and ive got all the books and folders ect.

I didnt realise you had to pay a renewal fee?? Also do you have to do the specific cpd whilst training or just once you pass?

What i was mainly going to ask is as qualified nurse what exactly should i learn from the text they have sent me through? In the code of conduct and guidelines are they going to just ask me about SQP related questions or should i also be learning things relevant to wholesailers and premesis ect?

Can someone give me a brief overview of what they learnt and what i should be?

Hope you can help

I frequently use my "skill" as i am able to sell worming and flea prosucts to non registered clients that call in either when the vet is at lunch or busy and to be honest, Drontal, Frontline, Advantage, Panacur etc shouldn't need a vet to prescribe it.

Should we have to do have an additional qualificaion in addition to our VN one? Well that is another story!
