I personally wouldn't recommend Danbro. I used them while locuming for a few weeks, and although I did always get paid on time, I was constantly given the wrong information regarding what I would be paid, which was rather frustrating!

I use Eden, plus you get indemnity insurance with them.....................

I've used I4 group uk, they were ok and very helpfull.

You have fill in their own time sheet and they have expense sheets for every thing.

i used to be with an umbrella company but now am on the pay roll of an agency which is working out better for me if that helps.

I have used Danbro in the past and they were always helpful with any queries I had, and it was easy to track when I was going to be paid. I'm sure there are other nurses on here who have tried some of the other companies. However, if possible I always tried to be on the practices payroll instead of using the umbrella.

Hi thanks for the respose but it would suit me more to use an umbrella company- I don't think I'm organised enough to use an accountant and would prefer to do stuff as I go along not at the end of the year- My boyfriend does that and it's always a hassle. I'm just wondering if other nurses use umbrella companies and if they are happy with them.

None you are only a solo locum not a full company do it yourself if you worried pay just a small amount for an accountant to collate your end of year accounts and have a meeting with him at the start of your work to explain how to do your accounts.

If you were a big company then you would still use an accountant just on a regular basis not a yearly basis. Personally l wouldnt touch an umbrella co. with a barge pole.

If l wasnt a ltd company l would do my own books but a ltd company is a totally different kettle of fish l am also vat registered so that means vat returns so l have chartered accountants they do it all for me but l do my daily books and hand them paperwork every 3 months for my vat and they do my yr end accounts, by law the year ends have to be done by charted accountants. You would just need a basic accountant and when l used to have one it wasnt expensive he just did my year ends.
