I used a rabbit abscess that was medicailly treated then eventually surgically removed. You could also use things like snuffles, e.cuniculi, myx, or infection of any kind really.
I have used a rat that was admitted with resp distress, the owner rang very worried. I collected the rat from waiting room and performed a triage before the vet saw them, they were then taken to the consulting room and prescribed medications. I only saw the rat for for approx 30 mins, but my tutor said this was fine as i can use the Orpet and Jeffery patient assessment form as my nursing care plan. We also very rarely see exotic animals as I work in a referral practise were we mainly see dogs and cats.

Here is a link to the patient assessment form if anyone needs it!

http://www.myftraining.com/Docs/Care%20Plan%20(blank)%20-%20The%20Ability%20Model.doc

And this is a useful article from The Veterinary Nurse on how to implement it.

http://www.myftraining.com/Docs/Care%20Plan%20-%20Using%20the%20Ability%20Model.pdf

This next link in an example of an assignment provided by the RCVS, it is for SAVN18 but it may give you an idea on the structure etc...

http://awardingbody.rcvs.org.uk/document-library/sample-unit-savn18-assignment/

For SAVN16, I am struggling, but remember to put things like how to place cannulas, copy with pet loss etc in an appendix. Your appendix can be as big as you want it to be. For SAVN14 i had nearly 30 appendicies and for SAVN18 I had a least 20 appendices. I explained the purpose of triage, first aid, oyygen therapy, placing cannulas and the care of ongoing fliud therapy etc.... all in the appendix. Download the assignment brief from the RCVS website, I found this very helpful and then tick everything you have covered. Its on page 92 of the handbook.

Use headings as well to help you structure it, the Gibb's Reflective Cycle is useful for headings our make your first heading Consent to treatment and go from there right through to the Nursing Care Plans.

Hope this helps

I thougt we could use this type of thing but student doesn't think we can as most of these type cases are dealt with in the consulting room so no care plan in place. Did you write a care plan to give to owner for treating with drugs dispensed?

When I did the transitional last year I used RLT and Orem models then intergrated it into the nursing care for that patient/condition. I also had to write out a nursing care plan for each of my cases (cat, dog and exotic) Don't forget to put a copy in your appendix and refer to it in your assignment, you can then discuss in your evaulation why you used that particular model and whether you felt it was good/bad etc. If you feel you are struggling don't forget to ask the lecturer who set the assignment to go through it with you, I had to on more than one occasion!

Good Luck!
